Priyamani reveals the reason behind the delay for Maidaan

The Jawan actor said, “I was very much connected to the direction team. But fortunately mera kaam COVID-19 ke pehele khatam hogaya tha because that was the time when we were all out. They wanted to release it around that time. But COVID aagaya tha and hum 6 months ke liye shoot nahi kar paaye. Aur jab lockdown khuli, then they resumed work for Ajay sir and everybody else. Mainly, conversation wale scenes khatam hogaya tha, bacha tha toh matches. I think jab stadium banaya tha for the matches, they underwent a lot of problems.

She also recalls the time when it was emotional for producer Boney Kapoor. “Pehele COVID aayi thi fir natural calamities aayi thi, uske wajah se the whole sets was washed out. Then they had to rebuild it and I remember that I visited Boney Kapoor’s office and met him and our hearts went out to him because we could see the difficulty and the emotions he went through but wo sab problem mein bhi itni positive the ki wo bole, ‘No matter, hum movie khatam karne hi wale hai and the shoot will get completed and it will come out. Don’t worry.’ Adding that the team is finally overjoyed that the movie is coming out after facing a lot of problems. The hard work has finally paid off well,” she told exclusively us.

Priyamani on the clash between Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan

As Maidaan and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan are clashing at the box office, Priyamani feels it is a good thing. “We never knew that Bade Miyan Chote Miyan aayegi saath mein but abhi bhi baat cheet chal rahi hai. We would love it if both the films do well because, at the end of the day, we do movies to entertain the audience. Aisa nahi hai ki unka movie acha ho aur vice versa. Dono acha hai toh achi hai because the content matters at the end of the day, the story is what matters. Agar audience ko dono achi lagi toh why not, it would be a push for Bollywood films as well.
